Wage register software for contractors
Every client and every inspector asks for the wage register. ContractPay prints the Form XXVII wage register for each site, straight from the month you approve.
What a wage register is
A wage register is a record of what you paid each worker in a month. It shows days worked, wages, overtime and deductions.
Your client checks it before they pass your bill. A labour inspector can also ask to see it. If it is missing or wrong, you have a problem.
Many contractors still write it by hand or copy it from Excel. That takes hours. And one typing mistake can make it differ from the payslips.
Form XXVII register software, made from your salary
In ContractPay, you do not type the register again. It is made from the salary you already worked out.
- Upload the client's attendance Excel, or type the days on the salary sheet.
- The software checks for gaps and mistakes.
- Approve the month.
- Print the Form XXVII wage register for that site.
You get one register for each client site. So the papers for one client never mix with another client.
Form XXVII is the wage register from the old Contract Labour rules.
Why the register matches your payslips and bill
When you approve a month, the figures are locked. Nobody can change a worker's pay by mistake after that.
The payslips, the wage register and the client bill all come from these same locked figures. So all three show the same numbers.
Payslips
PDF payslips for all workers at the site.
Wage register
Form XXVII for the same site and month.
Client bill
Wages, service charge and GST from the same salary.
When your client compares them, they agree. That means fewer questions and less waiting for your payment.
New registers under the Wages (Central) Rules 2026
The four new labour codes came into force on 21 November 2025. The Central Rules under them were notified on 8 May 2026. These rules bring new register forms.
| New form | What it records |
|---|---|
| Form I | Employee Register |
| Form IV | Register of Wages, Overtime, Advances, Fines and Deductions |
| Form IX | Attendance Register-cum-Muster Roll |
You can keep these on paper or in electronic form. Each state makes its own rules, and states are moving to the new forms. Some states are still finishing their rules. Check your own state's rules.
Form XXVII today, and Form IV if you need it
Let us be clear about what the software does. ContractPay prints the Form XXVII wage register today. It does not print Form IV yet.
Many clients and some offices still ask for Form XXVII while states move to the new forms. So for most contractors, Form XXVII is what is asked for each month.
If your client or office needs Form IV, please ask us. WhatsApp +91 90030 40075 or email dinesh@dinmind.in and tell us what they want.

Rules to keep in mind every month
A register is only one part of the job. These points come from the Code on Wages and its rules.
- Pay monthly wages before the 7th of the next month.
- Give every worker a wage slip on or before pay day. It can be paper or electronic.
- Pay overtime at twice the normal rate of wages.
- Keep your registers for 5 years.
ContractPay makes PDF payslips for all workers, so wage slips are ready on time.
